SOFIA: PM Marković meets with World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva

Prime Minister Duško Marković met this morning in Sofia, on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, with World Bank Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the World Bank for the current development support, which among other things, contributed to our last year's strong economic growth of 4.4 percent. The Prime Minister especially emphasised the importance of World Bank's support in the fiscal consolidation process in Montenegro and the recently signed policy-based guarantee in the amount of EUR 80 million.

The World Bank CEO congratulated Montenegro on good results in the previous period and this year's successful Eurobond issue, assessing the conditions that Montenegro has achieved as impressive.

The interlocutors discussed the importance of potential future cooperation in projects aimed at simplifying trade and increasing employment in Montenegro and the Western Balkan region.
