PMs Marković and Kurz meet in Sofia: Austria is strong EU advocate of Western Balkans
Sofia, Bulgaria (17 May 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković met in Sofia with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz.
The main topic of the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the EU - Western Balkans Summit, was a further European perspective of Montenegro, as well as other Western Balkan countries.
PM Marković informed the Austrian Prime Minister about the economic results of the 41st Cabinet of Montenegro, about the country’s political and reform priorities, including the commitment to end the process of opening negotiating chapters during the Austrian presidency of the European Union and start an intensive process of closing chapters.
Congratulating Prime Minister Marković on the Government’s excellent economic accomplishments, Prime Minister Kurz fully supported the aspirations of Montenegro, noting that the country, as a leader in European integration, has realistic prospects to continue the successful accession process.
"Make sure that Austria is a reliable partner to Montenegro and the entire region," Prime Minister Kurz concluded.
The two prime ministers agreed on a mutual exchange of visits.
