GLOBSEC 2018: Minister Bosković meets officials of Slovakia, Lajčák and Gajdoš
On the margins of the "GLOBSEC 2018" forum, which takes place from 17-19 May 2018, in Bratislava, the Minister of Defense of Montenegro, Predrag Bošković, met today with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák.
Minister Bošković emphasized that with concrete and quality reforms, as well as by giving the right answers to various political and geo-strategic challenges, Montenegro has shown and proved that Montenegro shares Euro-Atlantic values, has adequate capacities, and that it is a credible and reliable partner to the international community.
Minister Lajčák pointed out that Montenegro had achieved great results and congratulated on its success in the integration process. He emphasized the importance of her active role in preserving security in the Western Balkans and stressed that Montenegro could serve as an example for countries in the region that have Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
The interlocutors concluded that the cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia was both content and quality, and expressed the belief that it would intensify in the following period.
During his stay in Bratislava, Minister Bošković also met with the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic, Peter Gajdoš.
Minister Bošković stressed out that the Slovak Republic was one of the most important partners of our country on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration. He recalled the fact that the Slovakian Minister was the first NATO Defense Minister to visit Montenegro after joining the Alliance and, with his presence, gave additional importance to one of the most important moments of recent Montenegrin history. Minister Bošković stressed that he was perceived as a special gesture of appreciation and support.
Minister Gajdoš also stated that the Slovak Republic will continue to support Montenegro in an effort to achieve one of its foreign policy priorities, joining the European Union community.
The interlocutors agreed that the cooperation between Montenegro and the Slovak Republic in the field of defense was on an enviable level, but also said that they expected her further improvement as a members of allies.
