PM Marković hosts farewell visit by Ambassador of PRC: Relations are excellent, motorway is best recommendation for new development projects

Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted a farewell visit by Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Montenegro Cui Zhiwei.

The two officials concluded that relations between the two countries are at the highest level – friendly, comprehensive and diversified, that cooperation continues to develop and progress, and that the construction of the priority section of the motorway has further strengthened relations between Montenegro and China and has created a good basis for further dialogue on cooperation on new development projects.

The Prime Minister assessed that attaining high-quality Montenegrin-Chinese relations is especially credited to Ambassador Cui.

"I am pleased to note that each of our encounters was for the benefit of the people of both countries. Each of our encounters was an incentive for creating new values in Montenegro. I thank you, Ambassador, on behalf of the Government and my own, for such an approach," Prime Minister Marković said.

The Prime Minister expressed his particular appreciation for the respect that the People's Republic of China expresses towards the strategic European and Euro-Atlantic orientation of Montenegro.

Ambassador of the People's Republic of China said that his country welcomed Montenegro's good progress on economic and political agenda.

"We highly appreciate Montenegro's achievements since the restoration of independence, especially last year's achievements. Not only China, but the whole world sees that you are being developed successfully, that you have a stable political situation and improve the living standard of citizens. As your friends, it makes us happy," Ambassador Cui said.

PM Marković and Ambassador Cui noted that Montenegrin-Chinese cooperation in the areas of our development projects, science, education, culture and sport contributed to better understanding of people and cultures, increasing interest of citizens of one country for another, reflected, among other things, in a large number of scholarships and Montenegrin students and sports professionals in China, and Chinese tourists in Montenegro.

Such an approach shows that relations are at the highest level, but also that there is no maximum, as it is always possible to achieve more, Ambassador Cui said.
