Podgorica, Montenegro (1 June 2018)-- Earlier today, Prime Minister Duško Marković paid a visit to the Office for European Integration, where he spoke with Chief Negotiator for Montenegro's Accession to the European Union Aleksandar Drljević and his deputies, Ivana Glišević-Đurović and Miodrag Radović.

PM Marković noted that he expects a regular and efficient monitoring of the fulfillment of Montenegro’s obligations in order to further improve the process of European integration, primarily through more responsible approach by different segments of government.

"Our key policy is to raise the quality of the EU integration process. Reforms should be brought to an end. There is a serious job ahead of you," he underlined.

Pointing out the need for efficient coordination of the Office of the Chief Negotiator and all segments of the public administration, the Prime Minister said that meeting Montenegro's  obligations from the European agenda need to be a top priority for all segments of government in order to successfully implement the process of integration of Montenegro into the European Union within a stipulated deadline.

The meeting discussed Montenegro's accession process and concluded that the country successfully responds to the challenges, but that it is necessary to make strong breakthroughs in terms of the timeline and the quality of the process itself, based on the new negotiating structure that has been recently established.
