Response: It takes two sides to have cooperation and dialogue

On the occasion of the programme content published today in the daily "Vijesti" on pages 4 and 5, on the front page as well as on the portal of that media under the title "Government is to one mother, to another stepmother", which states that the Government of Montenegro allegedly does not have the same relation with all municipalities which is especially seen in those municipalities where the opposition holds the power, in order to provide true and complete information to the public, we announce: the Government has the same institutional relation and the need for cooperation with all cities, regardless of who is exercising the authority in which municipality.

Specifically, immediately after the constitution of the 41st Government, Prime Minister Duško Marković introduced the practice of official receptions and meetings with municipal leaders on the eve of the Municipality Day.

We, in the Government, have thought that precisely this model of direct discussion on all aspects of cooperation is the best answer to the development priorities of each municipality, or the needs of our citizens.

During 2017 and 2018, the Prime Minister had over twenty such meetings, which discussed capital and development projects, and all other issues important for the development of municipalities.

However, this respectable figure does not include meetings with the leadership of Budva, Kotor and Herceg Novi.

Unfortunately, Mayor of Herceg Novi Stevan Katić leads when it comes to boycotting the government and ignoring its calls.

Nevertheless, the Prime Minister and the Government remain committed to the development of our municipalities, and to the improvement of the lives of all Montenegrin citizens, regardless of the city they live in, and who are their municipal presidents.
