The Agreement on cooperation between Montenegro and EUROJUST represents the highest level of trust between Montenegro and EU Member States in the field of cooperation in the fight against serious forms of cross-border crime, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin said at the conference "Eurojust and cooperation with third countries - experiences and challenges in the countries of the Western Balkans ", which is being held today in Podgorica, a year after the Agreement entered into force.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the quality

of Montenegro's cooperation with EUROJUST is best illustrated by the fact that Montenegro has promptly appointed Liaison Prosecutor to Eurojust and that during 2017 the Montenegrin state authorities were involved in four cases of judicial cooperation through EUROJUST, which were dominantly related to the crimes of fraud, terrorism and money laundering.

DPM Pažin emphasised that all Montenegrin judicial institutions are observers in relevant European Judicial Network and announced that Montenegro's accession to the European Commission's Justice Programme is expected in the fall. He added that the Law on Judicial Cooperation with the EU Member States is in the final stage of its work in the Ministry of Justice.

"Let me take this opportunity to recall the words of Ms. Michèle Coninsx, with whom I had the privilege to sign the Agreement between Montenegro and EUROJUST on cooperation, on 3 May 2016 in Brussels, that the Agreement represents the highest level of trust between Montenegro and the EU Member States in the field of cooperation in the fight against serious forms of cross-border crime. Today's conference is evidence that this trust is not only preserved, but also deepened," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
