Delegation of OGP Steering Committee meets with Govt representatives: Further activities of Montenegro in OGP agreed

Representatives of the Government of Montenegro and the Delegation of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee agreed today in Podgorica on the next steps that Montenegro should take in this international initiative by the end of the year.

The OGP delegation was introduced with Montenegro's full commitment to the objectives of this international initiative, which implies improvement of the transparency of public administration, strengthening the role of civil society and citizens in the creation of public policies, the fight against corruption, the use of new technologies for strengthening governance, etc.

Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović introduced the OGP delegation with normative solutions and practices that show that the policy of the Government of Montenegro is fully aligned with the objectives of this international initiative.

Agreed steps include continuing consultations with the civil sector in order to adopt an Action Plan by the end of the year.

The delegation of OGP, who stayed in Montenegro, was consisted of the member of the Steering Committee and Chairman of the Criteria and Standards Subcommittee Stefano Pizziccannella, member of the Steering Committee Helen Darbishire, representative of the Support Unit Jaime M. Mercado and Senior Regional Coordinator for Europe Sandra Pernar.
