Ministers Nuhodžić, Xhafaj agree on stronger joint Montenegrin-Albanian border patrols for more successful fight against organised crime and prevention of mass migration
Ministers of Internal Affairs of Montenegro and Albania Mevludin Nuhodžić and Fatmir Xhafaj agreed at today's meeting in Shkodra to strengthen joint border patrols in order to more successfully fight against organised crime and prevent mass transboundary migration.
During the joint visit to the border crossing Božaj - Hani i Hotit, the ministers also agreed on the need for modernisation of infrastructure at border crossings, especially at the crossing Sukobin – Murićani. The two countries shall apply for IPA funds in order to achieve this.
Ministers Nuhodžić and Džafaj have noted that two friendly neighbouring countries see a space for intensifying cooperation in the field of security and partnership.
The meeting was also attended by Director of the Police Administration of Montenegro Vesko Damjanović.
