Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković met with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković on the sidelines of Europa Forum Wachau conference taking place in Austria.

The meeting focused primarily on the Montenegrin integration process and the dynamics of meeting the European agenda.

PM Marković informed the Croatian Prime Minister about Montenegro's plan to open two negotiating chapters during the Austrian presidency and to bring to an end the preconditions for meeting the provisional benchmarks for chapters 23 and 24 in order to enter the intensive process of closing negotiation chapters.

Prime Minister Plenković said that Croatia strongly supports Montenegro's EU bid and will continue to advocate for Montenegro's plans within the EU.

The meeting also discussed current developments in the region, as well as the European perspective of the Western Balkans as a whole and each country individually.

The two prime ministers concluded that the bilateral relations between Montenegro and Croatia are excellent, which will be confirmed during the official visit of Prime Minister Plenkovic to Montenegro scheduled for this autumn.
