Minister Nuhodzic and Kickl met in Brussels: Austria recognizes Montenegro's efforts in the rule of law and supports our European integration path
Austria recognizes Montenegro's efforts in the rule of law and supports its European integration path, said Interior Minister Herbert Kickl at a meeting with Interior Minister Mevludin Nuhodžić in Brussels today.
Speaking at the margins of the meeting of interior ministers, several countries in our region and Europe on the challenges of mass migration, the Ministers Nuhodžić and Kikl expressed their satisfaction with the content and intensive relations of the two countries and concluded that there was room for strengthening cooperation in all areas of joint jurisdiction.
In the context of current security challenges such as migration, organized crime and terrorism, Minister Nuhodžić pointed to the importance of enhancing cooperation and joint and coordinated action, with the permanent exchange of information between police services. "In that sense, I appreciate that the motto of the Austrian presidency of the 'Europe that protects' is well chosen, as well as the focus on issues of external borders and illegal migrations," said Minister Nuhodžić.
Minister Kickl said that from July 1, when Austria assumes the presidency of the EU Council, it will continue to provide strong support to the further process of the European integration of our country and that it considers important for Montenegro to become a member of the European Union in the near future.
