Prime Minister Duško Marković expressed satisfaction with the official results of the GDP growth rate of 4.5 percent in the first quarter of 2018 and said that such a good result, the third in Europe, represents also an obligation for the Government to continue to encourage its own administration to quickly make legal decisions and responsibly implement Government economic policies.

"Today, MONSTAT published the official data on the growth of gross domestic product for the first quarter of 2018, which is 4.5% and it represents the third growth rate in Europe in the first quarter of 2018. If we recall growth rate in 2017, which amounted to 4.4 percent, and the growth rate in the first quarter of 2018, I can note with satisfaction that Montenegro is entering into dynamic economic development and economic growth that will provide new jobs and a higher standard for citizens," Prime Minister Marković said.

The Prime Minister thanked to everyone who contributed to this trend of growth of our economy, adding that the Government will continue to do the same.

"I assure you that this trend of growth of our economy will be the obligation of the Government to continue to provide conditions for the valorisation of our indisputable resources in the sectors that contribute to the development of the country as a whole. First of all, the implementation of the capital budget in terms of infrastructure development, as well as all other projects across the country. This will be an obligation and an incentive for the Government to continue to encourage its own administration to quickly make decisions based on the law, but also to responsibly implement the economic policies that the Government represents," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said that the Government will do everything to secure as much foreign investment as possible and that domestic investors invest more than they invest today.

"We will understand all their objections and demands and we will respond to these interests in order for the country to continue its development in a dynamic way, as shown in the data in the first quarter of 2018," PM Marković said.
