Igalo Institute, Tourist Organization of Podgorica, Faculty for Business and Tourism Budva, Montenegro Business Alliance, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Montenegro, MG SOFT company, Agency for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Hotel Ramada, Faculty for Tourism and Hotel Management of the University of Montenegro, Chamber of Physiotherapists of Montenegro, ČIKOM company, Public Institution Kakaricka gora, and the Cluster of Health Tourism of Montenegro. In this way, the relevant institutions and relevant stakeholders have been mobilized today in order to include them in the S3 development process. The participants had the opportunity to present the current situation and point to the potential for future development, not only of the institutions they represent, but of the entire country in the above sectors.
With a view to defining the priority areas of development in a quality manner, the bottom-up approach has been applied in the development of the Smart Specialization Strategy. In other words, besides the participation of the competent Government departments, the active participation of the academic, economic and civil sector is of key importance.
The meeting was moderated by the consultants for Entrepreneurial Discovery Process, Ms. Marjana Majerič, Assistant General Manager at Technology Park Ljubljana, and Mr. Aleš Pevc, Project Management Consultant at the Park.
The main goal of the Smart Specialization Strategy and this process is to increase the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy through the application of the existing knowledge base and competencies within the identified priority sectors. S3 will also enable the development of new sectoral areas or industries by investing in research and innovation in areas that contain strategic potential in Montenegro.
