PM Marković, FM Szijjártó: Excellent relations between Montenegro and Hungary, strong support for Montenegro's EU bid
Podgorica, Montenegro (2 July 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, who is paying a working visit to Montenegro.
It was noted that two friendly countries foster excellent bilateral relations and share views on many issues.
"This visit is another strong confirmation of excellent relations between the two countries, but we can always work on their further improvement," said Prime Minister Marković. He thanked Hungary for the continued and open support for Montenegro’s integration bids.
Minister Szijjártó noted that Hungary will continue to strongly support the European integration of Montenegro.
"You can count on our 100% support in the future," the Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister pointed out. He added that his country's position is that the European Union should open all remaining negotiating chapters this year with both Montenegro and Serbia, while it is understood that the two processes need to be treated separately.
The meeting also discussed other topics of regional and global importance.
The meeting agreed on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's visit to Montenegro.
