There is nothing we can resent each other, PM Rama says at joint session of Montenegrin, Albanian cabinets

Shkoder, Albania (3 July 2018) -- Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama said earler this morning when opening a joint session of the governments of Montenegro and Albania that the two neighbouring and friendly countries have developed excellent relations that could be futher enhanced.

Prime Minister Rama extended special thanks to Prime Minister Duško Marković and President Milo Đukanović for their attitude twards the Albanian minority in Montenegro.

"I would like to extand my appreciation to President Milo Đukanović, your Government for you attitude towards the Albanians in Montenegro. There is a historic bridge between us, which is irreplaceable - it is a bridge that represents minorities. It is an extraordinary bridge of coexistence," Prime Minister Rama stressed.

PM Rama added that his country, by adopting the Law on Minorities, gave the Montenegrin minority the value it deserves.

"It is not usual that things are positive in our region, but in this matter, they are," Prime Minister Rama underlined, adding that the two countries have relatively easily found a common language.

"The power and influence of the culture we share is another reason to strengthen our cooperation. Nowadays, borders serve as meeting points on both sides. Albania and Montenegro have extraordinary natural beauty. By promoting these beauties, by implementing harmonised policies, we allow not only an increase in the number of tourists, but we also open the possibility for us to get to know each other better and better cooperate," Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama said when opening the joint session of the two governments in Shkoder.
