Minister Nuhodžić signs Agreement on opening of joint border crossing Ckla-Zogaj and Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in emergency situations

Minister of Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and his Albanian counterparts Fatmir Xhafaj and Olta Xhaçka signed today in Shkodër the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on the opening of the joint border crossing Ckla-Zogaj for international road passenger and lake transport and the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on cooperation and mutual assistance in emergency situations. The agreements were signed following the joint session of the Government of Montenegro and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania.

The agreement on opening a joint border crossing creates the possibility of joint border control in road and lake passenger transport, after connecting the Ckla - Zogaj road. Also, this issue is significant from the aspect of valorisation of the tourist and economic resources of the Skadar Lake.

The agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in emergency situations aims to improve and strengthen capacities to prevent and respond to natural and other disasters. The signed agreement recognises the increase of existing and future prevention and preparedness for disasters as an important area in relations between the two countries.
