Podgorica, Montenegro (6 July 2018) – At today’s session, the Collegium for Negotiations on the Accession of Montenegro to the European Union reviewed the situation in the negotiation process and concluded that the forthcoming challenges require the strengthening of the personnel capacities of the Office for European Integration and the establishment of procedures that will involve rewarding the most responsible entities in the negotiations on the basis of the achieved results.
The Office for European Integration was tasked to make suggestions for ways to reduce the format of working groups in order to improve the efficiency of the negotiation process, in cooperation with line ministries.
It was concluded that actions should be intensified in order to obtain the final benchmarks for chapters 3 (Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services), 5 (Public Procurement), 6 (Company Law), 7 (Intellectual Property Rights), 13 (Fisheries), 21 (Trans-European Networks) and 28 (Consumer and Health Protection).
