At today's session, the Montenegrin Cabinet adopted the Public Administration Optimisation Plan for the period 2018-20. At the press conference following the session, Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović announced that the aforementioned plan aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of public administration, especially in the segment of service delivery to citizens and the economy.

One of the short-term measures, both at the local and central level, is to limit definite and indefinite employment contracts in state administration and public institutions founded by the state for a period of one year from now. Then termination of employment for a certain period of time by the expiration of the period on which the employment relationship was created without the possibility of extension during the year in question, i.e. the termination of working engagement of persons engaged on other grounds after the expiration of the time to which these persons were engaged, Minister Pribilović said.

She pointed out that the Public Administration Optimisation Plan was not approached through the prism of dismissal, as it is often mentioned in the public, but it was seen as part of wider reform programmes, all for the purpose of more efficient public administration.
