PM Marković congratulates citizens on Statehood Day: July is month of joy and remembrance of Montenegro, its heroic history

Podgorica, Montenegro (12 July 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the citizens of Montenegro on 13 July – Statehood Day.

"For a century and a half, July has been a month of joy and remembrance of Montenegro, its duration and its heroic history. In the 19th century, it came as recognition from Europe and the world for our centuries-long fight for freedom. In the 20th century, when Europe was on its knees, our 13 July sent a message from a small and freedom - loving Montenegro, through the first nationwide uprising in the enslaved Europe. Nowadays, Montenegro again contributes to Europe and the world with its clear commitment to peace and stability supported by our multireligious and multinational harmony, expressed through the need and will of our citizens to decide on their own interests," Prime Minister Duško Marković stressed in his letter of congratulations.
