Prime Minister Duško Marković supported the programme of the first intensive revitalization of the low-voltage and medium-voltage electricity network which should enable all citizens, i.e. households and companies in Montenegro, especially in the Northern Region, to obtain quality and reliable electricity supply within three years without price increase.
This is a serious and high quality programme. We will wait for the announcement of the Energy Regulatory Agency. The Government will support this programme of national importance and make sure that, as the majority owner of Electric Power Company (EPCG), the implementation is of high quality, Prime Minister Duško Marković said at a meeting with President of the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) Miodrag Čanović and Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors Zoran Đukanović.
The first programme of revitalization of the low-voltage network was initiated more than a month ago by PM Marković after he established in numerous contacts with citizens and businessmen especially in the Northern region that quality electricity supply is an increasing problem for both the economy and the citizens.
The CEDIS leadership informed the Prime Minister of the details of the programme worth more than EUR 80 million, based on which the works will begin in February 2019.
Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić also attended the meeting.
