On the first day of his visit to the State of Israel, Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

Minister Darmanović thanked for the hospitality and emphasised the importance of further strengthening friendship and overall cooperation between the two countries, which has recently gained new dynamics, especially in the field of tourism.

President Rivlin agreed that intensifying cooperation in the coming period is of great importance for the two nations. He congratulated Montenegro's membership in NATO, and praised and assessed as very important policy that Montenegro is pursuing on the international agenda.

We appreciate your friendship, President Rivlin said.

The Montenegrin Foreign Minister briefed the Israeli President about the dynamics of Montenegro's EU negotiation process, as well as the constructive role of our country in the region.

During the meeting they exchanged views on current international topics of importance for regional and global security.

Montenegro and the State of Israel are continuously developing friendly relations, and today's visit is a confirmation of the mutual interest in strengthening political dialogue at a high level, the meeting concluded.

Minister Darmanović met today in Jerusalem with Regional Development Minister of the State of Israel Tzachi Hanegbi.

The two officials agreed that last year's Montenegrin-Israeli business forum, held in Podgorica, gave a strong impetus to the further development and deepening of economic cooperation.

Today in Jerusalem, Minister Darmanović laid a wreath in Yad Vashem - The World Holocaust Remembrance Center.
