Minister Pribilović takes part in 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, Georgia (19 July 2018) -- Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović took part in the 5th Open Partnership Open Partnership (OGP) Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia. At a ministerial meeting titled "Promoting Open Governments in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership", Minister Pribilovic expressed satisfaction with the fact that Montenegro will have the opportunity to intensify cooperation with the OGP, highlighting the Government's priorities regarding public administration reform.

She pointed out that the goals of the public administration reform are complementary to the aims of the OGP, especially in terms of increasing the accountability of the system, improving the quality of service delivery to citizens, and more effectively exercising the right to free access to information. Our focus, Minister Pribilović said, is to create an open, efficient and citizens-oriented public administration.

“Montenegro has adopted the Public Administration Reform Action Plan for the period 2018-202o, the implementation of which will be especially focused on the most demanding activities, which will improve the operation of the entire public administration and thus enable a better service of citizens," Minister Pribilovic noted.

She also met in Tbilisi with Vice-Presidents of the Subcommittee on Criteria and Standards, who praised the activities of the Ministry of Public Administration towards adoping a new action plan, and expressed satisfaction with improving cooperation with the OGP. They pledged full support to the Ministry in continuing the process.

Minister Pribilović said that the Ministry of Public Administration has fulfilled all of its obligations set out in the Plan of Activities submitted to the OGP within the deadline for the development of the Action Plan.

On the sidelines of the Summit, she met with Minister of Justice of Georgia Theo Tsulukiani, with whom she discussed the improvement of bilateral cooperation in the field of public administration reform, in particular electronic services and the civil service system. The meeting discussed models for the promotion and institutionalisation of bilateral cooperation.

Minister Pribilović also attended a session sponsored by RESPA titled "Regional Public Dialogue for Public Partnership."

Fifth OGP Global Summit hosted representatives from more than 70 countries, including heads of state, ministers, civil servants, MPs, representatives of local authorities, NGOs, international organisations, researchers and journalists.
