Podgorica, Montenegro (19 July 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the citizens of Šavnik on the Municipality Day, stressing that this is a local community that operates successfully and consistently implement government policies.

"You are setting an example of how to behave responsibly towards the State and resources, and everyone sees it. That is why the Šavnik municipality will continue to have all the support of the Government in the future. Your demands are modest, and the effects are better and more visible than elsewhere," said Prime Minister Markovic at today's meeting with Mayors of the Municipalities Mijomir Vujačić, Speaker of the Municipal Parliament Jugoslava Jakšić and with the Vice President of the Municipality Vlatko Vuković.

The management of Šavnik informed the Prime Minister that the municipality performs all its obligations in a timely and orderly manner, and is implementing several development projects in the fields of agriculture and tourism, reffering in particular to the Nature Park project, the construction of small hydropower plants and a business zone with complete infrastructure.

It was concluded that the development of Šavnik lies primarily in the valorisation of water and agricultural resources, as well as in the development of tourism.

The Prime Minister, referring to the examples of Šavnik, Andrijevica and Mojkovac, noted that small municipalities are the most responsible towards state money, emphasising that the Government encourages such an approach and will seek ways to increase allocations for development projects in these local communities.
