PM Marković hosts farewell visit by US Ambassador Uyehara: Montenegro, USA are bound together by lasting friendship, partnership
Podgorica, Montenegro (20 July 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today a farewell visit by Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro Margaret Ann Uyehara.
PM Marković stressed that during her mandate Montenegro achieved one of its strategic goals - NATO membership - which is the common success of the two countries to which Ambassador Uyehara contributed significantly.
"The United States has always been with Montenegro. We have worked together as friends and allies. We have been committed to overcoming challenges - and we succeeded. Your role in confirming our partnership is significant and we will not forget it," PM Marković told the US Ambassador.
Prime Minister Duško Marković expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the United States of America to the region and high-quality bilateral relations, undelining that they were in particular empowered by the US Vice President's official visit to Montenegro last year and the messages he sent from our country.
"This confirms the sustainability of our friendship," Prime Minister Duško Marković stressed, adding that the presence of the United States in the Balkans is a guarantee of a firm and unquestionable European and Euro-Atlantic course of the region.
Ambassador Uyehara expressed satisfaction with serving in Montenegro and the country's progress to which she testified.
