Rule of law reforms are crucial for further progress

Montenegro is the leader of the region in the process of European integration and should continue with the rule of law reforms, especially in the areas of media freedom and the fight against organized crime and corruption, was told at the meetings that the Montenegro’s Chief negotiator with the EU Aleksandar Drljević had with the ambassadors Slovakia, Denmark and Greece.

Montenegro’s Chief negotiator had separate meetings with the ambassadors of Slovakia, Denmark and Greece, Roman Hloben, Anders Christian Hugor and Sotirios Atanasiou.

Drljević thanked ambassadors for continued expert support in the negotiation process and informed them about the status of Montenegro's negotiations with the EU. He recalled that Montenegro has opened 30 negotiating chapters and expressed the expectation that the country's efforts to fulfill a number of obligations from the European agenda will be evaluated at the upcoming Intergovernmental Conference.
