Bulgaria will continue to support Montenegrin path to the EU

Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, Aleksandar Drljević, hosted a farewell reception for the Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro, Mladen Chervenyakov.

Drljević thanked Cervenyakov for constructive cooperation and the significant support that Bulgaria provides in realization of key foreign policy goals of Montenegro - membership in NATO and the EU. In this context, he particularly stressed the contribution of the Bulgarian EU presidency, during which the issue of EU membership of the Western Balkans countries was put again among the priorities of the EU.

Ambassador Chervenyakov said he was pleased by the fact that during his mandate Montenegro became NATO member and achieved significant progress in joining the EU. He said Bulgaria would continue to support accession of Montenegro to the EU.
