Montenegro should maintain good dynamics in negotiations with the European Union and continue with the reforms that will be supported by the Czech Republic, which strongly supports EU enlargement, member states, noted Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, Aleksandar Drljević, and Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Karel Urban, during the meeting.
“Our goal is to maintain good negotiation dynamics and intensify our activities in order to get closing benchmarks for several chapters, with the focus on progress in a key area - rule of law. We expect to open the remaining two chapters, 27 - Environment and 8 - Competition soon, and confirm that we have achieved significant results and that we are ready for the upcoming work”, Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator said.
Ambassador Urban stressed that the Czech Republic was ready for further expert assistance to Montenegro in process of joining the EU, stating that they would consider engaging an expert from the Czech Republic, who would provide technical and expert assistance in process of negotiations with the EU.
