Prime Minister Duško Marković said tonight at the opening ceremony of the Chedi Hotel on Luštica that the Luštica Bay project, which has been followed with strong opposition from all sides, is a confirmation of the vision over the obstruction and ignorance, adding that the Government continues to support projects that promote Montenegro and it also expects from the municipalities, so the valorisation of our airports is a top priority.

"This is an opportunity to remind everyone how much was high resistance when the Government and the Prime Minister Đukanović initiated this investment with this credible partner Luštica at the end of 2013. They were strong and on all sides. So tonight we witness and win the vision of the obstruction and ignorance but also we witness the courage of the investor and his faith and love towards Montenegro. In this part of the peninsula there was no utility, transport or other infrastructure, which makes this project the only greenfield investment in Montenegro "- the Prime Minister Duško Marković stressed, addressing the guests at the opening ceremony of the Hotel Chedi - the second hotel of that brand in Europe and the first in the Balkans.

The hotel is ambitiously embedded in the environment, the best materials in construction have been used, which is especially important and makes it another example of the implementation of our tourism policy. For the supply of goods, local producers have been engaged and the economic effects of his work will be felt for residents of Luštica "- the Prime Minister underlined.

Prime Minister Duško Marković pointed out that 171 new jobs were opened in the hotel, where more than 77% of Montenegrin citizens were employed.

"I am convinced that this percentage will increase in the coming period, bearing in mind that more and more young people in Montenegro are interested in jobs in the tourism sector. This is more important given the fact that we have just begun with the opening of a high category hotel since the beginning of this tourist season on the road to realisation of our promise to open more than 1,000 new jobs in the hotel sector. These successes are confirmation of the correctness of the strategic Government policy in the field of tourism and in the best way demonstrate to the Montenegrin and international public the unique importance that this economic branch has for the economic development of Montenegro "- the Prime Minister Marković enhanced.

PM Marković announced that the planned EUR 1.1 billion investment makes this project the largest tourist project in Montenegro, one of the largest and most important in the country in general, which is also important and one of the largest in the Mediterranean, which almost 267 million tourists visited last year.

"The realisation of this project, along with other important projects in Montenegro, is a confirmation of our competitiveness as a destination, which gives us the optimism to explore in the realisation of these projects which already represent new symbols of our tourism and significantly strengthen our position on the global tourist map "- the Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the opening of the Chedi Hotel on Lustica tonight.

The Prime Minister Marković recalled that Montenegro had only two five-star hotels in the year of 2006, while today there are sixteen. "In order to bring you closer to the achievements, let me remind you that in the last two months we have received 3 hotels with 5 *, and by the end of the season, we expect two more to start working. This confirms our strong commitment to create conditions for the development of new hotel capacities of high category and thus further improve the tourist offer. Therefore, the priority of the Government and the competent authorities is to continue to work on strengthening Montenegro's competitiveness as an investment destination, we are communicating with investors who have financial capacity and international credibility to create a new value in Montenegro in a partnership, and a new opportunity for our citizens "- the Prime Minister announced.
The Prime Minister Marković concluded by saying that the Government of Montenegro, as before, will continue to support the realisation of all projects that promote Montenegro as a tourist destination. "We expect this from both municipalities and all actors in the social and public life of our country," the Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the opening ceremony of the Hotel Chedi on Luštica.
