Podgorica, Montenegro (17 September 2018) -- On behalf of the Government and his own, Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the Jewish Community in Montenegro on the reconciliation day - Yom Kippur, noting that understanding for diversities and affirmation of forgiveness and friendship are the universal messages of this great holiday, and that the ability to forgive is the privilege of those whose faith overcomes all temptations and challenges.
"I am convinced that this holiday will inspire believers to strengthen their mutual harmony and prosperity of their families and their country with their future actions. Montenegro, as a home of many religions and nations, will remain committed to preserving and respecting diversity as a foundation of the overall progress for the benefit of all our citizens," Prime Minister Duško Marković said in his congratulatory letter to President of the Jewish Community in Montenegro Đordje Raičević.
Congratulating the holiday, the Prime Minister once again paid homage to former President of the Jewish Community Jaša Alfandari, saying that his work and attitude contributed to the welfare of our home - Montenegro.
