PM Marković hosts newly appointed Ambassador of Macedonia: Montenegro pledges full support to policy that required both vision and courage

Podgorica, Montenegro (18 September 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted the inaugural visit by Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Montenegro Mihajlo Trpkoski.
It was noted that the relations between the two friendly countries are of high quality and content, that Montenegro and the Republic of Macedonia share the same European and Euro-Atlantic values and that both countries see their future in the EU and NATO.
Prime Minister Marković reiterated Montenegro's full support for the agreement on name change reached by prime ministers Zoran Zaev and Alexis Cipras, stressing that it is the wisest and most courageous visionary decision that have been made in the region over more that a decade.
"I believe that Macedonia will succeed in maintaining the policy which required both vision and courage," said PM Marković, reiterating that Montenegro is willing to share its experience from European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
Ambassador Trpkoski conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Zaev to his Montenegrin counterpart Marković.
Prime Minister Marković and Ambassador Trpkoski agreed that there is room for stronger economic cooperation between Montenegro and Macedonia, primarily in the areas of tourism and food production.
