DPM Simović opens beekeeping event in Nikšić: We celebrate new developments in beekeeping sector together
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović opened earlier today Beekeeping Days 2018 in Nikšić. DPM Simović expressed satisfaction regarding opening today's event in Nikšić, together with valuable beekeepers.
This year's achievements, as well as the improvement of the beekeeping sector in Montenegro, as assessed by DPM Simović, reflect the continuous partnership between the Government and beekeepers, which will be continued and developed in the future.
The Deputy Prime Minister reminded that an agreement was made at the beginning of the year. "We said that a modern honey packaging line is needed. By the end of the year, it will be operative. The Montenegrin honey will be packed in modern packaging and thus be offered to consumers throughout Montenegro, and I'm sure in the region and beyond. We also said that we will strengthen market control. We have taken decisive action and achieved concrete results. We prevented the fake honey, which does not meet the standards, to reach the consumers. We are making efforts to ensure that in the coming months only the quality domestic honey is present on the market."
Simović also recalled that support to beekeepers continued, through public calls, especially to young people. The Nikšić Association is richer for eight young people this year, supported by this measure, out of a total of 124 throughout Montenegro. Wax procurement support, projects for improvement of health condition of bee associations and education of beekeepers are also continued. All these activities are an expression of partnership and support. All this would not have been enough, as Simović said, if there are no wise and hardworking beekeepers.
