Meeting of foreign ministers of WB6 in New York: More intensive cooperation for more stable region

New York, the USA (25 September 2018) -- On the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović participated in the working breakfast of the foreign ministers of the West Balkans Six.
The meeting was hosted by Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Goran Svilanović, and attended by Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
The foreign ministers underscored that the countries of the region are advancing on the road to the European Union in accordance with their accession agenda, and it is important that despite the challenges they are facing, they remain committed to reforms, as well as the prospects for EU membership.
They agreed that the Western Balkan countries should intensively use all the mechanisms for regional cooperation in order to better connect, while building solid foundations for a competitive and prosperous society based on European values.
The meeting highlighted the importance of further affirmation of project-oriented activities in the field of infrastructure and digital connectivity, which also contribute to the political stability of the region.
