FM Darmanović holds series of bilateral meetings in New York

New York, the USA (26 September 2018) -- On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanović met with UN Under Secretary for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo.

The meeting focused on current regional issues, and Ms DiCarlo commended the constructive role of Montenegro, its achievements on the European path, as well as its activities in the capacity of the youngest NATO member aimed at further promoting the North Atlantic values.

Speaking about developments in the region, Minister Darmanović highlighted the importance of the Macedonian-Greek agreement and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristine in the context of strengthening regional stability. He emphasised that Montenegro is committed to closely cooperating with its neighbours in bilateral, regional, multilateral and European integration matters.

The head of the Montenegrin diplomacy also attended a working dinner hosted by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

Minster Darmanović also met in New York with foreign ministers of Germany, Slovakia and Azerbaijan, Heiko Maas, Miroslav Lajčak and Elmar Mamadjarov, and with US Special Envoy Kurt Volker, respectively.
