Prime Minister's request to the OLAF
Published on: Jul 22, 2003 • 7:50 PM Author: Naslovna strana
Dear Mr. Bruener,
The daily press published in Montenegro and in Serbia on July 12 carried the allegation of Mr. Ratko Knezevic that has been given by OLAF representatives insight into bank statements from the Swiss UBS bank (Union Bank of Switzerland) headquartered in the Swiss town of Zug in my name and that I allegedly have an account with that bank of 1.5 million US dollars.
Launching such a speculation is aimed at my moral and political discredit both internally and internationally and thus at destroying the credibility of the executive and of state of Montenegro, given the fact that I am holding the office of Prime Minister of Montenegro. I would therefore appreciate your response relating to the allegations of the aforementioned gentleman to be made available to the public. Also in the event of any findings of investigations conducted by OLAF against me, it would be greatly appreciated if all facts resulting from these could be made public.
I hope that you will take into account the political and personal reasons for such a request from my part.
I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Milo Djukanovic
