DPM Simović meets with IPARD beneficiaries in Cetinje
Deputy Prime Minister and Miniser of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović paid the two-day visit to Cetinje, where he met with representatives from 12 companies.
Summing up the impressions after the meetings with all 12 entrepreneurs who invested a total of EUR 1.55 million in the last year in the improvement of processing capacities in the field of winemaking, meat and dairy industries, with grants of around EUR 650 thousand provided from the EU funds and the national budget, the Deputy Prime Minister said that he was encouraged by the achieved results and the perspective of further development of the economy in the Old Royal Capital.
He emphasised that the IPARD support programme, in addition to strengthening competitiveness, expanding volume and production assortment, has strengthened the sustainability of these companies' business and enabled the opening of new jobs.
According to Simović, significant investments made by 12 entrepreneurs in Cetinje represent only the beginning of many major and significant investments in this area. The Deputy Prime Minister recalled the two ongoing public calls within the framework of the large IPARD, where 6 requests for investments in the amount of over EUR 3.9 million and grants of over EUR 1.600.000 have been submitted from the area of Cetinje.
DPM Simović thanked the EU partners for their support in the implementation of all these projects, which will give a very significant impetus to the further strengthening of the agricultural sector.
"The numerous undertaken activities give concrete and measurable results, and every day there is an increasing number of citizens who can proudly say that agriculture is their business – a lucrative and sustainable business," Simović noted.
On this occasion, he urged the media representatives to actively and objectively support the joint efforts of the Government, European partners and valuable entrepreneurs, stressing that these efforts provide new jobs, create new values and improve the quality of life.
During the first day of his visit to Cetinje, DPM Simović visited wineries SKYMONT and RAVIL, the meat processing companies MONTSTATE, INTERPRODUCT, MARTEX and TURO, as well as the dairy plant MIAMAR. On Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the meat processing companies, GORNIČ, ZRNOŽIT and MIANJA, as well as dairy plant MILMARC.
