Montenegro makes continuous progress in the rule of law and is ready to open Chapter 27 by the end of the year, members of the Montenegrin negotiating team said at a meeting with non-resident ambassadors of EU Member States.

The meeting with the ambassadors of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, as well as the deputy ambassadors of Spain and Sweden was held today in Belgrade. The Montenegrin delegation was led by Chief Negotiator Aleksandar Drljević. Member of the Negotiating Group for Chapters 23 and 24 Marijana Laković-Drašković, leader of the Working Group for Chapter 24 Tanja Ostojić, member of the Negotiating Group for Chapter 27 Saša Radulović and leader of the Working Group for Chapter 27 Ivana Vojinović also participated in the meeting.

Members of the Montenegrin delegation informed the representatives of the EU Member States about the results achieved in order to get the final benchmarks in Chapters 23 and 24.
The Montenegrin delegation stressed that the Government is focused on achieving visible results in all areas covered by these chapters. They pointed out that field data show that the situation is changing for better, both in the field of fundamental rights and judiciary, as well as in the fight against corruption and organised crime, where efficient work of institutions produces measurable results.

The ambassadors of EU Member States welcomed the results and expressed the full support of their countries for the successful continuation of the reform processes. In this context, they exchanged views on the implementation of technical and expert support in specific areas concerning chapters 23, 24 and 27.
