Minister Bošković with Mimi Kodheli, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs of Albania

Minister of Defence, MSc Predrag Bošković met today with the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania headed by the Chairperson of the Committee Mimi Kodheli. The meeting attended also the Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ina Jano and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Montenegro Ridi Kurtezi.
Minister Bošković expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Committee’s delegation and stressed that the bilateral meeting is one more indicator of continuous investment in the development of good neighborly relations and friendly cooperation between Montenegro and Albania. During the meeting, interlocutors have exchanged views about the current regional issues, geostrategic balance as well as common European security of Montenegro and Albania. In the context of the current course of European integration of the two countries, Bošković and Kodheli agreed that the European Union remains the best framework for successful continuation of reforms, achieving standards and improving the life of the citizens in all Western Balkans countries, thus it is necessary to reinforce efforts on the path of European integration.
Speaking about the regional cooperation in the domain of defence, Minister pointed out that Montenegro will continue to strongly support the promotion of NATO's open door policy, referring to the strong support of the Western Balkan countries in their integration processes. Bošković pointed out that the fact that we are now formally sitting at a joint allied table, opens new chapters of cooperation between the two countries and pointed to the importance of stronger connection and finding common responses to current security challenges.
At the end of the meeting, Kodheli thanked Minister Bošković on welcoming and stressed that Montenegro and Albania must continue intensive and open cooperation as European countries and partners in NATO, because only in this way we can face the nowadays challenges and guarantee the common security of our citizens.
