Danilovgrad, Montenegro (23 October 2018) -- After his visit to entrepreneurs in Nikšić and Cetinje, who improved their business through significant investments supported through IPARD, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović visited earlier today the beneficiaries of this support in the Danilovgrad area.
Last year, 9 projects were implemented in Danilovgrad through the EU and Government support programme, with a total value of investments of EUR 2.24 million, with a grant of 940.000 euros, which makes Danilovgrad the most successful municipality in financial terms. Four dairies, two meat processing plants, two wineries and one plant for the processing of aromatic and medicinal herbs have been supported.
DPM Simović said that these significant investments in Danilovgrad are only the announcement of new investments by the end of this year and next year.
"The realisation of two public calls within the large IPARD is in progress, and from the Danilovgrad area, 18 applications for investments in the amount of over EUR 1,600,000 and 800,000 euros in grants have been received to date," he explained.
"All these and many other activities we have undertaken give concrete and measurable results throughout Montenegro, and every day there is an increasing number of citizens who can proudly say that agriculture is their business - a lucrative and sustainable business", Deputy Prime Minister Simović stressed.
