Podgorica, Montenegro (24 October 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković responded to a question by Ervin Ibrahimović, MP, about the dynamics of implementation of the planned projects from the Capital Budget for 2018, which refers to the northern municipalities of Montenegro, with a special emphasis on the municipality of Rožaje, pointing out that the 41st Government's mandate was marked by intensive activities in carrying out major infrastructure projects in the north, paying particular attention to the construction of the motorway, as the most important construction endevour in the history of Montenegro.

Prime Minister Markovic said that almost half of the funds from the Capital Budget for 2018 (41.83% - nearly EUR 20 million) were planned for the implementation of 35 projects in the north.

"Among the projects listed there are ski centres in Bjelasica, ski centre in Durmitor, ski centre in Hajla in Rožaje, and valorisation of the Đalovića Cave in Bijelo Polje. Given your particular interest in projects in the municipality of Rožaje, let me say that the value of the investment of the ski centre in Hajla is EUR 16 million, and it is to be completed by the end of 2022," said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Duško Marković said he is hopeful that all projects planned in the 2018 Capital Budget will enable the extension of the tourist season in the northern region, contribute to the increase in the number and quality of accommodation capacities, linking tourism with other economic sectors, and ultimately, and most importantly - to creating new jobs.

"Every euro spent on development projects, every kilometre of roads, every metre of new cable cars, energy or utility infrastructure - is an opportunity for a better life and higher standard of living, but also an opportunity for new jobs for those who want to work in Montenegro," Prime Minister Duško Marković underscored.
