Podgorica, Montenegro (24 October 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković responded to a question by Andrija Popović, MP, about the infrastructure problems in the Bay of Kotor, as well as the reconstruction of the indoor pool in Kotor.

Infrastructure facilities are vital for the prosperity of the Bay of Kotor and its citizens, Prime Minister Marković pointed out. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has allocated EUR 25 million for the construction of a boulevard from Tivat to Jaz.

Activities have been undertaken, within this project, on the construction of 14 kilometers of new pipeline, which will double the capacity of the regional water supply system for the municipalities of Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi and provide additional quantities of high quality water for the area of the Bay of Kotor.

Another important project is the reconstruction of the road section from Njeguši to Trojica, in length of 18 km, as a continuation of works on the alternative connection of the Bay of Kotor with the Old Royal Capital, through Lovćen, and further with Podgorica.

In the previous period, the Government invested EUR 10.4 million in the reconstruction of the regional road from Cetinje to Njeguši.

When it comes to investing in sports infrastructure, PM Marković pointed out, that the Government showed with its activities that it has a clear vision of how to improve this important social area. In September 2017, the EUR 800 thousand worth reconstruction of the indoor swimming pool in Kotor was completed. The Government will allocate about EUR 4 million for the next phase, which involves the reconstruction of all infrastructure and technical systems necessary for putting into operation the water polo pool and locker rooms.
The Government is a co-financier in the construction of a sports hall in Kotor.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the prerequisite for quality and long-term sustainable development is based on the development and improvement of the traffic, utility and overall social structure.
