PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (29 October 2018) -- Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović hosted earlier today Ambassador of Germany to Montenegro Robert Weber.

DPM Husović thanked Ambassador Weber for his visit and wished him every success in his work and a pleasant stay in Montenegro.

"Montenegro and Germany have developed good relations at all levels, especially in the political sphere, which have resulted in Germany's strong support for Montenegro's integration into NATO and the EU. Good relations between our countries have been also influenced by our numerous diaspora in Germany,"  the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

Ambassador Weber pledged Germany's strong commitment to supporting Montenegro's EU bid in all segments.

"German investments in infrastructure in Montenegro, through GIZ and KFB Bank, besides contributing to the citizens of all regions of Montenegro, also contribute to attracting foreign investment with a view of creating new jobs, especially in less developed parts of Montenegro," said Ambassador Weber.

Both sides agreed that local governments, especially in the north of Montenegro, need to be encouraged to make the best use of IPA funds intended for development projects.

The two officials also stressed that it is necessary to create conditions for recognising Montenegro's driving licenses in Germany, which would be of great importance for the citizens of Montenegro living in Germany.
