The Government of Montenegro will continue to strongly support the development of the north through current and future projects in the area of infrastructure improvement, in particular projects that should contribute to strengthening the economy, creating new jobs and improving the quality of life of citizens of municipalities in the north.

Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović met today in Pljevlja with the presidents of eight municipalities in the north of Montenegro. The meeting was organised on the margins of the National Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development. The conference was attended by the presidents of the municipalities of Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, Žabljak, Šavnik, Andrijevica, Petnjica and Kolašin.

"I had an opportunity and a pleasure to talk to the presidents of the municipalities in the north. This was an excellent opportunity to discuss all current projects implemented in these municipalities, as well as projects that should start next year, through the new capital budget for 2019," DPM Simović said.

The meeting emphasised the need to continue communication between the state institutions and local self-governments and to identify new development opportunities in the field of agriculture, energy, wood industry and other fields, which will result in new projects for the benefit of the citizens.

The presidents of municipalities expressed their satisfaction with the Government's support.

"The formula of joint success is our common, open and continuous communication," DPM Simović noted.
