Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Foreign and Interior Policy and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin attended today in Budva the ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Montenegrin Judiciary.

DPM Pažin noted that our international partners see Montenegro as the first next member of the European Union mostly thanks to the success of judicial reform.

He assessed that during the implementation of the current judicial reform strategy in Montenegro, all aspects of the Montenegrin justice system were clearly enhanced. Nevertheless, the Deputy Prime Minister added, the Montenegrin judiciary still has a great responsibility to continue contributing to the efforts of the executive and legislative authorities, and the overall Montenegrin society, achieving the goals of the new 2019-2020 judicial reform strategy. These goals imply further rationalisation of the judicial network, effective measurement of the workload of judges and time for the resolution of cases, reduction of the number of unresolved court cases and further harmonisation of case law with the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.
