Prime Minister Duško Marković sent a letter of congratulations on the occasion of 2 November – the date marking the 110th anniversary of the Railways of Montenegro.

The period of building the State during the past century and the restoration of its independence at the beginning of this century, put our development and economic aspirations to the persistence test. In parallel with these processes, it was necessary to build the overall infrastructure as a prerequisite for overall social progress. From one of the poorest republics of the former Yugoslavia, Montenegro became a modern state and a credible partner of the most developed countries in the world. Such status was followed by the implementation of capital projects in tourism, energy and transport – and they are precisely the locomotives of economic progress – the Prime Minister's congratulatory letter reads, noting the special gratitute to the railway employees for their service.

The Prime Minister assessed that the greatest responsibility is on the management to – with the significant support of the Government, its dedicated work, knowledge and experience – strongly contribute to the safety of the railway network, improvement of the quality of services and increased confidence of passengers.
