Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic met today in Podgorica with Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, who arrived for a two-day official visit to Montenegro.
The two officials expressed their satisfaction with the development of traditional friendship between Montenegro and Macedonia and the readiness to promote economic, cultural and overall bilateral cooperation, which was not interrupted in the decade of Yugoslav crisis. The impending constitution of the Macedonian Consulate General in Podgorica, the transformation of the Montenegrin consulate in Skopje and mutual efforts to promote cooperation, including transit through Kosovo, were said to be crucial importance for the stability of the region and the achievement of common European and Euro-Atlantic goals.
Prime Minister Djukanovic introduced the honored guest with the current political and economic situation in Montenegro and the results the Government and other state authorities achieved in economic, administrative and educational reforms.
President Trajkovski expressed his satisfaction with the congruence between their positions on both the present situation and the prospects of the region.
