Podgorica, Montenegro (12 November 2018) -- Minister of sports Nikola Janović held a press conference on the occasion of the expiration of the deadline for submitting requests for harmonisation of the work of sports clubs with the Law on Sports.
Minister Janović recalled that sports clubs are obliged to comply with the legal deadline and to begin the process of alignment with the new Law by 14 November. Otherwise they will be erased from the Register of Sports Organisations.
Ministry of Sports is satisfied with the previous response of sports clubs, which, as Minister Janović pointed out, corresponds to the number of those who have received support in the past two years for the implementation of programme activities.
He also emphasised that the goal of this process is to erase the fictitious clubs that have existed for years and finally to regulate the Register of Sports Organisations, in order to create a sustainable system as a necessary precondition for further improvement of the sports area, pledging full openness of the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry for further stronger financial support for sports organisations.
