Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic received today the Austrian Ambassador to Belgrade Hans Porias.

During a long and open conversation, the two officials exchanged views on the furtherance of bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and Austria to the mutual benefit and expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of contacts between Podgorica and Vienna. They paid particular attention to the creation of conditions to increase the presence of Austrian banks in Montenegro, which would stimulate Austrian investors to play more active role in the implementation of concrete projects, first and foremost in the north of Montenegro. Djukanovic and Porias agreed that alliance in that direction would mean continuation of Austria’s support to Montenegro’s reform project. Prime Minister Djukanovic introduced Ambassador Porias to the results achieved by the Government of Montenegro in that respect.

Djukanovic and Porias also discussed the current situation in Montenegro, relations with Serbia in the context of the forthcoming Serbian parliamentary elections and more general trends in the region.
