DPM Simović on occasion of two years of Government work: Powerful momentum in development of agriculture
In the past two years, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development achieved encouraging results in all areas of work – agriculture, rural development, fisheries, forestry and water management.
The growth and modernisation of production, the improvement of the competitiveness of domestic producers, the adoption of demanding standards, the increase of import substitution and export growth, the creation of new jobs and the creation of preconditions for the sustainable use of natural resources for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro have been achieved.
Summing up the achieved results in these areas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović emphasised that the results were achieved especially thanks to the approach that involved active field work and strong partnership with European and other international partners, agricultural producers and entrepreneurs, local self-governments, scientific and professional institutions, the civil sector, and the media.
"During these two years, we organised numerous activities on the field and in that direct communication we saw all the challenges that producers face in their work. We saw their dedicated work and results, heard support messages, as well as numerous suggestions and ideas. We were both in the north and in the south. We visited agricultural producers and entrepreneurs, fishermen, forest complexes and roads, laboratory facilities, numerous institutions, participated in local fairs and events, as well as international conferences. We will continue with this practice in the future, because the best guarantee of success in creating and implementing policies is in direct, open and partnership communication," Simović said.
