The final evaluation commission has positively evaluated ten innovative projects. The indicative amount of funds requested from the Ministry of Science is EUR 760,000, and negotiations with grant proponents are underway.

By the expiration of the deadline for applying to the call for applications for grants for innovative projects (2018-2020), which was announced in July this year, 29 applications were received and submitted to the first phase of evaluation, which was conducted by international evaluators selected on the basis of a separate call for evaluators with precisely defined criteria.

The 70-point threshold was successfully met by 17 project applications, which were then submitted to the second phase of evaluation, focusing on innovation, the potential for commercialisation and competitiveness. The final evaluation panel, comprised of three international experts, carried out the second phase of evaluation, during which interviews were held with the candidates.

Within the framework of ten positively evaluated projects, the creation of 20 new jobs is planned. As for the partnership component, partnerships have been established between business entities in five projects. In four projects, partnerships have been formed between business entities and scientific research institutions, while one project has provided for the establishment of a spin-off.

The list of positively evaluated projects is available HERE.

The grants will be officially awarded at a ceremony to be held at Villa Gorica on 14 December 2018.
