Minister Osman Nurković held today the annual media conference in Vila Gorica on which he presented with his associates the results of the work of transport and maritime affairs department.

In his address, Minister Nurković said that traffic is always a current topic, which is to be expected when the fact that the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs is implementing the largest capital projects in the country.

"The year for us was very dynamic, and even though I can be happy with the shift in almost all traffic areas, I expect that the 2019 will be even more intensive in terms of the activities we will realize. Our goal is to build a modern traffic infrastructure that will support the ravine development of the whole the state, "Nurković said.

In his address, Minister Nurković said that traffic is always a current topic, which is to be expected when the fact that the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs is implementing the largest capital projects in the country.

He reminded briefly of the current projects that have taken the utmost attention to the Montenegrin public, primarily the construction of the priority section of the highway Bar Boljare, the concession arrangement for the aerodrome of Montenegro, the status of national airline Montenegroairlines, investments in railway infrastructure, significant investments in the national network of roads, cooperation with seafarers.

"There was a lot of talk about building a priority stake in Smokovac - Uvač - Mateševo, a capital project of vital importance to the development of our country. Most of the criticisms were directed to the dynamics of the works and the term of completion, in this respect I can reiterate that the quality of the finished works is a priority in relation to strictly respecting the deadline. It is not unusual for such complex projects to be implemented in the foreseen timeframe, and I do not think I have to remind myself that this is really the biggest project and the first of its kind in Montenegro ", emphasized Nurković.

"The unavoidable theme is also the impact of the construction of a motorway in the natural environment, specifically on the river Tara, I would say that it is really naive to expect that the construction of such facilities will in no way affect the environment, but I believe that Montenegrin institutions, in cooperation with the Contractor, are doing all the activities to make this impact as small as possible", Minister Nurković pointed out.
